This original acrylic gouache painting features a cheerful arrangement of pink cosmos flowers in a colourful quilt style checkerboard vase. Cosmos are one of my favourite flowers, I love there delicate pleated petals and soft tones of pink amongst the feathery foliage. Unfortunately my cosmos seeds I planted didn't grow very well this year so I was inspired to paint them instead. The vase in the paiting features patchwork quilt inspired patterns in earthy colours which I thought would be a nice contrast against the soft pink petals.
