This original nasturtium painting was inspired after watching these cheerful little flowers growing wild and free in my garden, through gaps in the gravel, trailing over walls and in between the gaps of other flora. Their round leaves and bright blooms have such a playful and curious way about them and I wanted to capture that climbing and twisting joyful energy in this piece. I have so many fond childhood memories of watching hundreds of caterpillars on nasturtiums so this piece brings a lot of nostalgia and happiness to me.
Painted by hand using high quality acrylic gouache on canvas, this artwork features nasturtium flowers in shades of orange, pink, red and yellow surround by lush green leaves that stand out against the soft pink background.
